Cum sa-ti ingrijesti pielea – Partea 3/ How to take care of your skin – Part 3

Buna tuturor,

Hi everyone,

Today I’ll continue my series of skin care, discussing products and treatments that shouldn’t (necessarily) be used daily.

1. exfoliate the lips – this step is especially important if the outside air is dry or if you want your lipstick application to be perfect. Mostly, I like to do my own scrub and for this I use a moisturizing ingredient (coconut oil, olive oil or honey) and an abrasive ingredient (white, brown sugar or coffee). If I use honey I put equal parts  – a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of brown sugar, and if I use oil I’ll mix half a tablespoon of oil with a tablespoon of sugar. I’ll rub this scrub with a finger on my lips for about 10-15 seconds, then I’ll remove it with a tissue or cotton pad. I’ll reapply if necessary. Now the lips should be soft, hydrated and ready for makeup. Usually I’d have a lot of scrub left and I’ll put it in a container in the refrigerator for maximum one week.

2. exfoliate the face – it’s preferable to remove the layers from the surface of the skin for having a healthy and clean look to your face. You can use a scrub that can be found on the market or you can do it at home. Use a similar recipe as the one from step 1, but you double the amount of moisturizing ingredient. Mix well and apply it on your face with your fingers and massage the skin thoroughly using a circular motion for about 1 minute. I’d recommend you do this at night before bed, because if you have sensitive skin, you can find that your face is red for the next 20-30 minutes. Also, this step should not be followed every day, but it’s preferable to be used once or twice a week.

3. face mask – there are so many types of such products on the market and I understand how frustrating it can be sometimes to pick the right one. Therefore I decided to briefly explain several essential types of face masks and the beneficial effects on the skin:

                 a) ASLAVITAL – Clay powder for cosmetic treatments – the clay can be used on any skin type. The mask is made by mixing the powder with various fruit juices or vegetables with yogurt, honey and egg yolk for oily skin or with cucumber, celery, milk, honey for normal and dry skin. I think this type of product is very useful, giving you the opportunity to create your own mask according to your skin needs.

                 b) Apivita – Express beauty with sea lavander – is an antioxidant and moisturizing mask that leaves the skin supple and smooth. Apply it once or twice a week on clean face avoiding the eyes and leave it to act 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water.

PS: The mask does not contain parabens and silicone.

               c) Oriflame – Love Nature Peel-off mask – it’s a gel mask, useful for stressed skin. Apply it on clean face in an even layer (avoiding the eyes). Leave it on for 20 minutes until it dries and then you can peel it off.

                d) Terra nature Naturkosmetik – is a cream mask that moisturizes the skin in depth. Unfortunately this product is found only in the Mueller stores, but is below 1 euro and very qualitative, so I recommend you to try it out if you go to Austria or Germany.

PS: I prefer to buy small tubes, because I always like to try different types of face masks.

I hope you found something interesting in this article or at least enjoyed reading it. What products do you use to help your skin look nicer?
