Beauty Blender Dupes

I never tried the original Beauty Blender, as I find it a bit too expensive for my taste, but I like its idea: I think it makes foundation and concealer more natural on the skin.

Today I wanted to talk to you about two of the Beauty Blender “dupes” I found and what’s my opinion after using them for a while.

Nu am incercat niciodata Beauty Blender-ul original, pentru ca mi se pare prea scump, dar imi place ideea sa: face fondul de ten si concealer-ul sa arate mai natural pe piele.

Azi va voi povesti despre doi bureti asemanatori Beauty Blender-ului si parerea mea despre ei.

ebelin sponge

• has the same shape as the original Beauty Blender
• it comes in a few colors and I saw that you can buy the mini size too (they’re meant to use with concealer)
• it almost doubles in size after you put it under water and squeeze it a few times
• it takes a while to perform OK. The first few uses it feels a bit more stiff but don’t worry, with time it will get more “worn out” and you’ll enjoy using it
• it doesn’t damage that easily
• I have this sponge for 6-7 months and I think it’s time to throw it out
• costs 2.45 Euro 
• can be found only in DM stores

Buretele de la ebelin

• are aceeasi froma precum Beauty Blender-ul original
• il puteti gasi in mai multe culori si am vazut ca acum exista si varianta mini (care se foloseste pentru concealer)
• aproape se dubleaza ca marime dupa ce il puneti sub apa si apoi o stoarceti de cateva ori
• ii ia o vreme pana sa ajunga sa se comporte OK. Primele dati se simte mai dur, dar nu va ingrijorati, pentru ca va ajunge sa se mai “uzeze” si apoi va va fi mai mare dragul sa-l folositi
• nu se distruge usor
• il am de aproape 6-7 luni si cred ca se apropie timpul sa-l arunc
• costa aproximativ 10 lei (sau poate asa l-am prins eu la reducere?)
• se poate gasi doar in magazinele DM

Melkior sponge

• has the same egg shape
• it almost doubles in size after wetting it
• I don’t like the fact that it’s not a complete black mate – it has some white sparkle and when I first used it, it fell on my hand when I tried to wet the sponge. Luckly it didn’t transfer to my face and I didn’t have that problem again
• the first few uses it doesn’t perform that great. It takes a bit of getting used to. But it will become more “manageable” in less time than the ebelin one
• it’s spongier than the ebelin sponge, so the foundation tends to look better after appying it the Melkior sponge
• because it’s more spongy, if you have long nails, this product can be easily damaged. So be careful when trying to wash it
• I have this sponge for less than a month and I think I will keep it 3 more months before throwing it in the bin
• costs 7-8 Euro
• can be found in Melkior physical stores or online

Buretele Melkior

• are aceeasi forma de ou
• aproape se dubleaza ca si marime atunci cand este umed
• nu-mi palce faptul ca burete nu este complet mat, ci are sclipici alb care la prima utilizare mi-a ramas pe mana. Din fericire nu s-a transferat si pe fata mea, iar de atunci nu am mai avut aceasta problema
• primele dati cand l-am folosit nu m-a dat deloc pe spate. Dureaza o vreme pana sa ajunga sa-l poti folosi la “adevarata” sa valoare. Totusi, ii ia mai putina vreme decat buretelui de la ebelin, pentru sa deveni usor de folosit
• este mai spongios decat buretele de la ebelin, ceea ce denota ca fondul de ten va arata mai bine atunci cand folositi buretele de la Melkior
• pentru ca are aceasta textura, are si o parte proasta: daca aveti unghii lungi va trebui sa aveti mai multa grija cand il spalati, pentru ca se poate rupe mult mai usor
• il am de aproape o luna si cred ca ma va tine inca 3 luni de acum inainte
• costa 30 lei
• il puteti gasi in magazinele fizice Melkior, dar si pe site-ul firmei

Conclusion:

I like them both, but they’re not perfect. Still, I think the ratio between quality and money is pretty good and this is why I’ll continue buying them.

Concluzie:

Imi plac ambele, dar nici unul nu e perfect. Totusi, raportul calitate-pret este destul de bun si de aceea voi continua sa le cumpar.

PS: A few weeks ago I threw out the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. In my opinion it’s the best sponge I used so far and it lasted me almost a year. I didn’t include it in this article because I don’t have it anymore and I didn’t use it for a while. So it didn’t seemed fair to compare it to these two sponges. I just wanted to let you know I used to own it and I will make a review on it once I buy it again.

PS: Acum cateva saptamani am aruncat Miracle Complexion Sponge de la Real Techniques. Dupa parerea mea, este ce mai bun produs de acest gen si m-a tinut aproape un an. Nu l-am inclus in acest articol pentru ca nu-l mai am si nu l-am mai folosit de o vreme. Nu mi se parea corect sa il compar cu acesti doi bureti.
